Chapter History
The Beta Alpha chapter was founded at UTC on May 3, 1969. It was founded by 15 men who believed that music had the power to uplift people everywhere through many different ways. With this idea, the Beta Alpha Chapter began its mission to instill in all people an awareness of music's important role in the enrichment of the human spirit.
Since the Chapter's founding almost 40 years ago, it has initiated over 400 Brothers that have become doctors, lawyers, band directors, and even Grammy Award winners. The one thing that united every brother is music. Not all of them played an instrument, nor could all of them sing. All them have used music to bring joy to those in their community, their university, and their lives.
